Assistant Principal
Dear Canyon Vista Students, Families and Community,
Dear Canyon Vista Students, Families and Community,
Dear Canyon Vista Students, Families and Community,
I am filled with excitement as I begin my 25th year in education as your Assistant Principal! I am thrilled to be part of the Canyon Vista community. It is apparent Canyon Vista has created an incredible educational journey for students that include high academic rigor, social emotional learning and community building. My journey in CUSD has spanned twelve years, during which I have served as an Elementary Assistant Principal and District SST/504 Coordinator.
My roots trace back to Minneapolis, Minnesota, but in 1998, I made the bold move to Huntington Beach to escape the cold winters and pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. Now, with 24 years in the field of education, I cherish each moment spent on this rewarding path. My early career involved teaching 3rd grade in Long Beach and 2nd grade in Arizona. Eventually, as an Instructional Coach for three years, I discovered my passion for becoming a school administrator. Being part of all aspects of school learning and events fills me with immense satisfaction, and I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have a career that I truly love.
I encourage you to reach out to me without hesitation for any questions, concerns, ideas, or simply to introduce yourself. Together, let's make the 2024-2025 school year an extraordinary one!
Sincerely,
Dara Stephens
