Principal's Message
Dear Canyon Vista Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year. Whether you’re new to our community or returning for another great year, we’re glad you’re here. As I begin my fifth year as principal, I remain committed to what matters most, which is building a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where every child belongs.
Each day at Canyon Vista starts with a connection. Students are greeted warmly because we know a simple welcome sets the tone for how children feel and how they learn. That daily focus on belonging, paired with a staff who consistently checks in and cares deeply, helps create the kind of school community every child deserves.
Safety continues to be a top priority. Our campus procedures are strong, and our expectations are clear. Teachers use consistent practices across classrooms to support positive behavior and maintain order so students can focus on learning.
We are also committed to challenge and growth. You’ll see students collaborating, engaging with meaningful tasks, and thinking critically. Our teachers work hard to create lessons that promote curiosity and encourage deeper thinking. We’re also continuing to implement our MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support) time four days a week. This targeted instruction helps us meet the needs of every student, whether they need extra support or more advanced challenges.
Of course, none of this works without partnership. When families and staff work together, students win. I encourage you to stay involved, communicate with your child’s teacher, show up for events, and talk often with your child about school. You matter more than you know.
Let’s make this a year of connection, challenge, and joy.
Thank you for trusting us with your children. It’s a privilege we don’t take lightly.
Warm regards,
Regi Vettraino
Principal
